Welcome to Dawn Geraghty Photography.
I am glad you are here. Photography is much more than a hobby for me, it is a passion. A passion that grew out of a love for two sweet boys. But first, let me tell you a little about me.
I am Dawn Geraghty, the main photographer. I am a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a firefighter-paramedic, a hairstylist, and a make-up artist first and a photographer second. Because of all of these titles I carry it has allowed me to use those experiences and those points of view to be able to capture photos from a different perspective than most. I married my amazing husband in 2006 and he is the most supportive fan I have. My life changed the day God blessed me with two twin boys- who are the center of my world. It was my love for them that made me want to be able to capture photos that were more than just a snapshot, but a memory frozen and a piece of art created. They have become the subjects of many “practice sessions” and are no stranger to a camera in their face. I also love capturing the beauty of God’s amazing creation- from landscapes to animals; my camera rarely gets a break.
I also love being a stylist for shoots. Since my Nana taught me how to braid, I was hooked on styling hair. I would style anything that I could from my granddad’s horses to my sister barbie dolls. I’ve also added make-up artist to the list of accomplishments to give you the full experience. I love being able to use makeup to enhance a women’s eyes and open the window to her soul. It gives her a level of confidence like no other. Then to be able to capture that into a memory is just breathtaking. Something that will be cherished forever.
Photography has allowed me to cultivate my passion and also become closer to my sister. We work many sessions and weddings together and it has created a bond between us that allows us to read each other’s minds. We can look at the same subject and see something so different, but equally wonderful.
